“The Felt Sense”

“The Felt Sense” is a phrase coined by Gene Gendlin, the author of “Focusing.” It is a physical, bodily feeling, like the Uh-Oh feeling, or the YES! feeling, or the NO! feeling. These are our body’s way of communicating with us throughout our life. The more attuned we can become with our body, the more our life can be attuned with that which is in our best interest even though we may not want to be associated with whatever it is. Ann Weiser Cornell’s book, “The Power of Focusing,” and “The Radical Acceptance of Everything,” are excellent guides in the art of reading our body’s signals and living aligned with our body’s idea of how our life needs to be lived.

At one with our body is at one with our life. At one with our life is at one with Tao, and in that Tao and God are one, at one with our life is at one with God. And when that is the case with us, “It’s a brand new world, Goldie!”
