When the first person, or people, experienced their experience of God, however they expressed their experience and whatever they said about it, to themselves or to one another, they expressed their interpretation of their experience, their explanation of their experience, their words, terms, reactions to their experience. And they crossed the line that Lao Tzu described in the Tao Te Ching when he said, “The Tao that can be said/told/expressed/explained/ taught/expounded/etc is not the eternal Tao.”
When the theologians talk about God they are saying nothing about God. They are saying what their interpretation, understanding, comprehension of God is. No one has ever said anything about God in all of the words expounded about God. Projection is all we have to go on where God is concerned. Whether it is our own projection, or the projections of those who are talking to us about God, It is all projections.
