The human propensity to take over the world is destroying life on the planet. The effort to improve things ruins things. Let’s be honest. It is never to improve anything other than the size of the bank accounts of those doing the improving. Every thing is for sale and has been from the start. If Jesus could say back then, “Money is the root of all evil,” how much more so today!

The Tao that I value above all other ways of being has no truck with money. Is incompatible with money. Has no association with money. When money comes in through the door, Tao goes out through the window. “Peaceful abiding here, now,” is more Taoist than Buddhist. And is one thing that can be done with no money at all.
