It is only a matter of knowing that it is so to see that it is so. Look at it this way: Tao is the right kind of flow. In sync with the right kind of flow is the Tao. When we are in sync with the right kind of flow all is one. In sync with the right kind of flow we know what’s what and what is called for in each situation as it arises, and that takes precedent over every other thing. Knowing what is called for. Being what is called for. Doing what is called for. Is the Tao.
What keeps that from happening? Wanting what we want and serving/doing that instead of doing what is called for disrupts the flow. Destroys, demolishes, disintegrates, disappears the flow.
The way back to the flow is being one with the Tao in doing what is called for at the expense of doing what we want to do. And so, Jesus could say, “You cannot be my disciple (that is “Be me”), unless you pick up your cross and follow me (that is “Be the Tao”).
