Doing what needs to be done in a situation is doing what is called for here, now, situation by situation. That is ideal in terms of living in accord with the flow of life and being, BUT that clashes with our own wants, wishes, desires, interests. Conflicts of interest are the source of disturbances in the force, of disruptions in the flow of the current of life, and the end of peace and harmony, balance and symmetry around the world throughout the Cosmos. And we don’t often realize that we are making a choice. We are muddying the water without knowing what we are doing. And Jesus’ question, “Why don’t you decide for yourselves what is right?” is met with, “Because we do not have what it takes to sacrifice what is good for us in the service of the good of the situation as a whole.” Or, “Because we are selfish, self-centered, and do not care for anything beyond our own happiness and satisfaction here, now.” And that is why things are as they are everywhere we look.
