Asking, “Here we are, now what?” focuses us on what’s what, here, now, what’s called for, what needs to be done about it in each situation as it arises–and invites us to drop into emptiness, stillness, silence (One thing, not three), and wait, as the old Taoists liked to say, “for the mud/dust to settle and the water/air to be clear,” in order to see/hear/know/ understand/do what needs to be done, when, where and how it needs to be done as an intuitive response to the matter at hand throughout the time left for living.
