Simmering Anger

I have known people who seemed to me to be simmering in anger because the life they are living is not the life they want to be living. To be stuck in a life they don’t want to live is a life sentence for a crime they did not commit. Nothing is just, fair, or livable about it.

I wonder if that were my case how I would deal with it, do about it, respond to it. I find solace and comfort in letting things be as they are and not caring how they are when there is nothing I can do about it. What I can do about it is live on as well as possible, anyway, nevertheless, even so.

It isn’t fair. It isn’t right. It is just the way it is, and that’s that. Letting it be and living on as though everything is just fine as it is. Saying “YES!” to life and meaning it through every situation as it arises, no matter what, is the way of maturity and grace, compassion, generosity, kindness, peace, serenity and wellbeing. A blessing upon all who come our way. And a gift to ourselves as compensation for a life sentence we did not deserve.
