Religion completely ignores what the early Shamans/Taoists knew instinctively/intuitively: The Tao that can be said/told is not the eternal Tao. There is no vocabulary for Truth. The Truth that can be said/told is not the eternal Truth. We can know the Truth only by Knowing the Truth.

Truth is experiential, not verbal. “You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free.” Free to do what? Free to be whom? To do what is called for. To be who we are. Who says so? We say so. We are our own authority in all things Us. We are the Truth when we are aligned with the Truth of us. Of ourselves. Of who we are.

How do we know the truth of who we are? Of what is ours to do? Emptiness, stillness, silence–one thing, not three. Sit still. Be quiet. See, hear, know what arises in the silent stillness. What’s what. What is called for. What needs to be done. What is the impulse of our nature. And doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the right place. As the servant of Truth, here, now. That is as religious as we need to be.
