Reaction Determines Response

One of the foundational truths of existence is “We do not react to what happens to us or to what happens in the world around us–we react to our interpretation of wht happens. We are the swing point between the event and our response to the event. There is what happens and there is the meanning of what happened, and we respond to what it means (to us) that it happened.

Perception becomes PROJECTION too easily, too instantly, too often.

Thus, the proper time to drop into emptiness, stillness, silence is the instant the Event happens. That way, we practice being one with the Silence to the point where it becomes instantaneous, immediate, here, now as a way of life that becomes automatic to us and prepares us to properly receive any Event that comes along.

We engage the Event out of emptiness, stillness, silence, ready to see, hear, understand what’s what, know what is happening, what might be called for and need to be done, when, where and how it needs to be done in response to the need of the moment unfolding before us.

We can meet and do what is called for intuitively, spontaneously, naturally. Moving to meet the moment as it needs to be met withhout leaving the silence.

As we become proficient in living from the silence in this way, we come to understand that Projection cannot co-exist with direct awareness of here, now. Projection needs imagination to live. When we bring awareness to bear on the validity of thought, story, seeing, knowing what’s what, we have an event to interpret, to see, to understand, to comprehend here, now–and projection disappears on the spot.

When we simply observe what is happening without embellishment and story-telling/meaning making, projection is by-passed and perception comes to life. Perception is consciously allowing the moment be exactly what it is without elaborating any aspect of it in any way and “knowing” more than we know.
