We look there for what is meaningful in our life. We may spend more time with something else, like our job, or mowing the grass, but what we take our time with tells the tale.

We take our time with the things that matter. That are important to us. That we love. Not only because we enjoy being with them, but also because we want to do right by them–to keep faith with them–because we MUST. These are the things that connect us with our spiritual side.

We may go to church and talk about God, or talk to God, study the Bible, and call that being spiritual, but spiritul is about keeping faith with the meaningful things in our life. Living in good faith with what we love.

THIS is the sign of true spirituality at work in our life. It isn’t what we talk about. It is how we live our life–It is where we take our time and do things well.

And no one can tell us what to do. We alone know what constitutes the things we must do well. We alone know where our spirituality is to be found. No one can hand us our spirituality or direct us to it.

This is the absurd thing about churches and religions. Which Jesus addressed by saying, “The Spirit is like the wind that blows where it will.” And of Lao Tzu saying, “The Tao that can be told (said, explained) is not the eternal Tao.” We are the Moved in the presence of the Mover. And nobody knows what moves us but us.
