Jacob Bronowski said, “We must live truthful lives. We must be trusted to say what we think and to be who we are.” I anything more truthful than that, or more ridiculous, absurd and beyond the realm of the possible that that worldwide in this day and age?

Who lives truthfully these days? Who expects that to be the case with anyone? When Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free,” what did he mean even then? What is true about ourselves? Can we be counted on to be true to ourselves? Can we be true to who we are? Does our life present an accurate image of who we actually, truthfully are? When people look at us who do they see? Who do we faithfully exhibit in the way we live? Whose idea of who we are, ought to be, is evident in the way we live? How self-transparent are we in the way we live?

Gerard Manley Hopkins said, “What I do is me–for that I came.” That’s it! Doing what we came to do, being who we came to be, are the only things that matter. Why would we not do it?

Being who we are, doing what we came to do, moment by moment, all our life long, are the most beautiful things in the world. Speaking of the world, give it a quick look-over and tell me how many people you see being who they came to be, doing what they came to do. That is how many people who are not missing the point of their life.
