Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and give glory to God.”

Jesus said, “Do not throw your pearls before swine.”

Jesus said, “Judge not, that you may not be judged.”

How can we recognize people as swine without judging what we look at?

How can we let our light shine before others without throwing pearls before swine?

When we ask, “What would Jesus do?”, it is likely that Jesus would do contradictory things. Like telling the story of the Prodigal Son and then cursing a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season!!!

Or, saying the second greatest commandment is “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And then tell a parable about an unjust landowner, and another parable about wise and foolish bridesmaids.

And then saying that “the Spirit is like the wind that blows where it will.” That being the case, we cannot follow a recipe book of what to do when! No commandments! No Maps! No path! As Martin Palmer likes to say, “The path that can be discerned as a path is not a reliable path.”

Each moment is a fresh start. We are to live out of all of them, in all of them, intuitively. Relying on our cumulative experience with all the moments that have gone before, without thinking logically, legalistically, about what to do when, where, how–but “just doing” what we do with our intuition as our guide, piloting our boat on its path through the sea!

We must trust ourselves to follow the guidance of our sense of direction and our timing, and let that be that. Using the knowledge we glean from each experience as grist for the mill.

We are milling awareness! We are milling maturity! We are milling awareness! Maturity! Courage! Compassion! Grace! For ourselves as much as for anyone else!

We are learning as we go.
Doing what we would do and not worrying about what someone else might do, and allowing that to deepen, expand, enlarge our responses to all of the moments that follow.

We are our own authority in determining how we live our life and doing what we do in each situation as it arises. We give it our best effort and let that be that, allowing nature to take its course, and making adjustments as necessary all along the way.

Our place, our role, is to fold into life, to merge with the current and become one with the flow of life and being, allowing things to be as they are, waiting for the right time (as we determine that to be) to ace in doing what we take to be called for, trusting ourselves to know when to do what where and when, and becoming confident in what we know over time.

Like water finding its way, not forcing anything, but allowing the way to open before us, in accord with the Tao, integrating Yin and Yang, transforming the landscape, changing the world, doing nothing special in the way water has of being water, by being who we are in the special way we have of being us.
