Balance and Harmony, Rhythm and Flow

Maintaining our equilibrium on physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual levels is essential to our wellbeing and general deportment–and most of the work goes on unconsciously. Becoming conscious of it brings us into play by being attuned to its importance and a partner in its development.

We do that simply by sitting (standing, running, etc.) and being aware of “the evenness of our keel on our path through the sea.” Where are we “steady as she goes”? Where are we out of sync, listing, adrift, needing to man the lifeboat? Taking readings throughout the day keeps us mindful of what’s what and what’s called for here, now, in order to take action before things get completely out of hand.

Rhythm and Flow are easy to overlook, but maintaining conscioius awareness of how things are moving about us enables us to stay in the center of the flow of life and being by what we say “Yes” to and what we say “No” to–our primary ways of remaining “in the flow” or removing ourselves from it. And keeps us focused on how we are “dancing with our life,” and what we intend by what we do and do not on a regular basis. Essential knowledge for keeping our eye on the part we are playing in how things are going here, now, day by day.
