Everybody knows what needs to happen eventually. If we do not know now, all we have to do is wait. It will become apparent in time.
What influences/determines what needs to happen depends on the circumstances at work in the situation at hand. “Circumstances beget circumstances,” as the old Taoists observed. And allowing things to take their own course is one way of doing it. The best way of doing it is a matter of opinion. In any situation it is likely that there is someone who knows best (Or thinks they do) and must be pleased. How “best” is determined and who says so is an aspect of the circumstances themselves. Who/what is in charge? Has the power/control? If we wait long enough somethng will happen. Things will change. And then something else will happen. Who knows what, where, when, how, why? Who knows what should or should not happen? How do they know? How can they be sure? Everyone eventually knows what they want and don’t what, but how do we know? How do we know what we should want, or should not what? Who is to say? If we wait long enough it all becomes apparent. Everything becomes clear with time. So the old Taoists recommended waiting for the mud to settle and the water to clear. Seeing, hearing, knowing, doing, being allows things to take their course when time allows. Impatience creates a different dynamic. And a different outcome.
